QPAY mobile app for ordering and booking in cafes and restaurants

QPAY is a service for commercial interaction between clients and food outlets.

MOBILE APPS

Requirements

The app’s primary goal is to facilitate seamless commercial interactions between customers and food outlets. The idea was to allow customers to order food and drinks for delivery or make reservations and pay for a visit. Through the app, users can browse the menu; select drinks, food, and the establishment; and decide whether to order delivery or reserve a table. The desired outcome was to simplify the ordering or reservation process, making it as quick and easy as possible within a single app. In other words, spend more time enjoying a great experience and less time organizing your visit.

Analysis and proposal

Through in-depth analysis, we explored various customer journeys and key ordering requirements before translating them into a technical specification for a fully-fledged mobile service. We then defined the business logic and applied it to the design. We implemented a modern user interface for both the mobile service (for customers) and the web administration tools (for establishment owners).

Functionality and design

To create a minimalist and effective user interface, we chose white as the primary color, with dark blue and yellow used as accents. These colors psychologically motivate users to take action, so this choice was deliberate.

The next challenge was to create user-friendly navigation. We added a map to the app so users could search by location. Once they found a location, they could order delivery or reserve a table in just a few clicks.

The ordering process has been automated using personal account information. The app stores information about previous orders and favorite establishments. We’ve added the ability to search by ratings and even food preferences.

The client’s key requirement was to set up payment service integration. We also wanted this process to be secure and convenient, so in addition to saving preferred payment methods, we added a bill splitting feature and the ability to leave tips for staff.

The service is administered by establishment owners through a dedicated web application. With this tool, they can manage all active orders, edit menus, and instantly view order and reservation information in real time, broken down by establishment. The tool also allows for sales analysis, inventory management, and reporting. Tips for staff.

Conclusion

The project resulted in a service that truly stimulates competition and improves service quality in the food service industry. A customer-focused app allows customers to plan their leisure time in advance, instantly book a restaurant, or order food in just a few clicks. This solution gives establishment owners a significant advantage over their competitors.
